How to Make Delicious Spicy Green Onion Ramen
We tried making ramen with green onions, and it was delightfully spicy and delicious! This recipe elevates a simple packet of ramen with the fragrant aroma and mild sweetness of green onions, creating a deeply flavorful and satisfying meal.
Basic Ingredients- 1 packet of instant ramen
- 1 handful of green onions
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (Gochugaru)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the green onions and slice them diagonally into long pieces. (This method allows them to absorb the broth flavor better than julienned onions!) Finely mince the garlic beforehand.
Step 2
Pour enough water into a pot to cook one packet of ramen and add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.
Step 3
Heat the pot over medium-low heat. Add half of the sliced green onions and the minced garlic. Sauté gently until the aroma of the green onions is released. Be careful not to burn them!
Step 4
Once the aroma of the garlic and green onions is fragrant, add 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes and stir-fry briefly. Then, add a small amount of water to loosen the seasoning and prevent clumping.
Step 5
Now, add the appropriate amount of water for cooking one packet of ramen to the pot.
Step 6
Add all the ramen soup base and dried vegetable packets. Wait until the water comes to a rolling boil. Once boiling, proceed to the next step.
Step 7
When the water boils, add the ramen noodles. Use chopsticks to gently separate the noodles, ensuring they don’t stick together, and cook until they reach your desired chewy texture.
Step 8
Carefully transfer the cooked ramen to a serving bowl. Generously top with the remaining sliced green onions. Your spicy and delicious Green Onion Ramen is now ready to enjoy!
