- 5 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste, generously packed)

- 2 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 3 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Corn syrup (for gloss and sweetness)
- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp Curry powder (for enhanced flavor)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the special sauce for your delicious tteokbokki. In a bowl, combine 5 tablespoons of gochujang, 4 tablespoons of gochugaru, 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of corn syrup, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of curry powder. Mix them well until there are no lumps. Feel free to adjust the amount of gochugaru or sugar to your preference.
Step 2
In a wide and deep pot, pour in 5 cups of water (about 1L) and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once the water starts boiling, dissolve the prepared sauce into it to create the broth. As the broth comes to a rolling boil, add the tteokbokki rice cakes, fish cakes, and the thinly sliced onion. Reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes until the rice cakes are soft and have absorbed the sauce.
Step 3
Now, it’s time for the star of the tteokbokki – the beef brisket! Once the rice cakes and fish cakes are somewhat cooked, gently separate and add the beef brisket to the pot, letting it cook briefly. After the brisket is cooked, add an uncooked ramen noodle pack and finally, top with a generous amount of julienned green onions. Continue to simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing all the ingredients to meld together. Your mouth-watering Beef Brisket Tteokbokki is now ready! Enjoy!
