- 1/4 carrot
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 2 eggs
- 5 Tbsp flour
Seasoning & Others- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of salt for egg wash
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of salt for egg wash
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, drain the oil completely from the canned tuna using a sieve. Wash the vegetables (onion, carrot, green bell pepper) thoroughly and pat them dry. Finely mince all the vegetables. It’s important to remove excess moisture from the vegetables with paper towels; otherwise, the mixture might become too wet.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the cold rice, drained tuna, minced onion, carrot, and green bell pepper. Gently mix everything with your hands until well combined. Season with a pinch of black pepper and salt to your taste. Be careful not to make it too salty.
Step 3
Take about a tablespoon of the mixture at a time and shape it into flat, round patties, similar to making small rice balls. Press gently to ensure the ingredients hold together without compacting too much. You can make them bite-sized or adjust the size as you prefer.
Step 4
Spread the flour on a wide plate. Coat each shaped patty evenly with flour on both sides. This helps the egg wash adhere better and prevents the patties from breaking apart during cooking. In a separate bowl, whisk the 2 eggs with a pinch of salt for the egg wash. Dip the flour-coated patties into the egg wash, ensuring they are fully coated on both sides.
Step 5
Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add a moderate amount of cooking oil. Carefully place the egg-coated patties into the hot oil. Fry them until golden brown and cooked through on both sides. Once done, your delicious cold rice donggeurangttaeng is ready! Their round, bite-sized shape makes them incredibly easy and convenient to enjoy.
