Main Ingredients- 2 sheets of square fish cake
- 1/2 onion
- 1 chili pepper (e.g., Cheongyang pepper)
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp perilla oil
- 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp perilla oil
- 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a preheated pan, add the thinly sliced onion (1/2) and the diagonally sliced chili pepper (1). Then, add the soy sauce (1 Tbsp) and the fish cakes (2 sheets), cut in half and then sliced lengthwise. Finally, drizzle in the perilla oil (1 Tbsp) around the edges of the pan.
Step 2
Next, add the red pepper flakes (1/2 Tbsp) for a spicy kick and the minced garlic (1 tsp) for added flavor and aroma.
Step 3
Now, adjust the heat to medium and stir-fry all the ingredients, mixing them well to ensure the seasoning coats everything evenly. You’ll find that from prepping the ingredients to finishing the stir-fry, the entire process takes approximately 10 minutes.
Step 4
Keep stirring to prevent the fish cakes from burning. Once the onions become translucent and tender, and the fish cakes are well coated with the sauce, your dish is ready! Before turning off the heat, sprinkle some sesame seeds generously for both visual appeal and a nutty flavor. Taste the stir-fry and add a pinch of salt if needed for perfect seasoning.
