Simple Soy Sauce and Oil Rice
Solo Meal: 30-Second Soy Sauce and Oil Rice – Truly Super Simple One-Meal Dish
This is a soy sauce and oil rice dish I made very often when I lived alone because it’s so incredibly simple! It might look plain, but it’s delicious! Boiling soup takes a lot of time, right? Just add hot broth to instant udon toppings and you’re done! ~
Ingredients- 1 bowl of rice (approx. 200-250g)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp perilla oil & sesame oil
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Place one bowl of warm rice (about 200-250g) into a serving bowl. Using freshly cooked, warm rice will make it even more delicious.
Step 2
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of soy sauce over the rice. You can adjust the amount of soy sauce to your preference.
Step 3
Next, add 1 tablespoon of perilla oil or sesame oil for a rich, nutty flavor. You can also use a mix of both oils.
Step 4
Finally, sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds over the top for added flavor and visual appeal. Lightly crushing the sesame seeds beforehand will release more aroma.
Step 5
Now, use chopsticks or a spoon to mix the rice, soy sauce, and oil thoroughly until well combined. This incredibly simple process takes less than 30 seconds!
Step 6
Taste the rice and adjust the seasoning by adding more soy sauce if needed, or a bit more rice if it’s too salty. While it’s great on its own, serving it with kimchi or other side dishes will make it an even more satisfying and delicious meal. Make sure to have a hearty meal!
