Introducing a ‘Tofu Rice’ recipe that I saw on YouTube and tried making myself. It’s simpler and more delicious than I expected! This dish combines protein-rich tofu and rice, making it a satisfying meal or a unique snack. I’ll share detailed tips on how to remove moisture and achieve a perfectly crumbly texture!
Main Ingredients- 1 block (approx. 300g) firm tofu
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp cooked rice
- Pinch of salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Gently blanch 1 block of tofu in boiling water or microwave it for 1-2 minutes until warm. This helps to remove moisture more easily.
Step 2
Once the tofu is warm, wrap it in a cloth or paper towels and squeeze out as much water as possible. Then, place it in a pan and begin to stir-fry over medium heat. It’s crucial to break up the tofu with a spatula while stir-frying to evaporate its moisture.
Step 3
Once the tofu becomes crumbly and most of the moisture has evaporated, add a pinch of salt to season. Adjust the salt amount so it doesn’t overpower the mild flavor of the tofu.
Step 4
When the tofu is stir-fried to a crumbly, separated texture, crack in 1 egg. Reduce the heat to medium-low at this point.
Step 5
Stir with chopsticks or a spatula to mix the egg well with the tofu. As the egg cooks, it will naturally blend with the tofu, creating a richer, more savory flavor.
Step 6
Once the egg is fully cooked and well combined with the tofu, add 2 tablespoons of cooked rice. Break up any clumps of rice and mix evenly so it doesn’t stick together.
Step 7
Continue stir-frying for another 1-2 minutes until the rice is mixed well with the tofu and egg and heated through. Your delicious Tofu Rice is ready!
