Main Ingredients- 2 King Oyster Mushrooms (medium size)
- A little cooking oil (for greasing the pan)
Spicy & Sweet Sauce- 5 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 2 tsp Sesame Oil
- 2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Minced Garlic
- 5 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 2 tsp Sesame Oil
- 2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Minced Garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the king oyster mushrooms thoroughly and pat them dry. Slice them into bite-sized pieces (about 1-1.5 cm thick, either diagonally or round). Lightly grease a heated frying pan with cooking oil, then add the sliced mushrooms and pan-fry over medium heat until golden brown.
Step 2
Once one side of the mushrooms is nicely browned, flip them over and cook the other side until it’s also delicious. Moisture will be released from the mushrooms, enhancing their chewy texture.
Step 3
While the mushrooms are cooking, let’s prepare the flavorful sauce. In a small bowl, combine 5 Tbsp water, 1 Tbsp gochujang, 1 tsp gochugaru, 2 tsp sesame oil, 2 tsp soy sauce, 2 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp minced garlic. Mix well with a spoon until the sauce is smooth and lump-free.
Step 4
Pour the prepared spicy and sweet sauce evenly over the mushrooms that are already in the pan. Ensure the sauce coats all the mushrooms.
Step 5
Now, stir-fry the mushrooms over medium-low heat until the sauce is well absorbed and the mushrooms are glossy. Your delicious, chewy, spicy, and sweet stir-fried king oyster mushrooms are ready! They are especially wonderful served over warm rice.
