Buttery Pan-Fried Baby Potatoes: A Kid-Favorite Snack
Deliciously Simple Butter-Fried Baby Potatoes for a Perfect Snack
I bought a bag of baby potatoes because they were on sale and decided to make a buttery pan-fried snack for the kids. This recipe yields potatoes that are slightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, coated in delicious butter. It’s a universally loved treat! Let’s get started on this simple yet delightful dish.
Main Ingredients- 14 baby potatoes
- 1 tsp salt (for boiling)
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the baby potatoes. Peel them completely. Place the peeled potatoes in a pot with 1 tsp of salt and enough water to cover them. Boil for about 10 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
Step 2
While the potatoes are boiling, preheat a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the 1/2 Tbsp of cooking oil and 1 Tbsp of butter to the heated pan.
Step 3
Once the butter has melted and is lightly bubbling, carefully add the boiled and drained baby potatoes to the pan. Leave a little space between them so they don’t stick together. Tilt the pan and gently roll the potatoes around to ensure even cooking.
Step 4
Continue to roll the potatoes around in the pan over low heat. Cook them slowly until they are golden brown and look appetizing on all sides. It’s important to manage the heat so they don’t burn.
Step 5
When the potatoes have achieved a nice, even golden-brown color, sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar evenly over them. The sugar will melt and slightly caramelize, adding a wonderful depth of flavor. Turn off the heat immediately after adding the sugar. Finally, for an extra touch of color and flavor, sprinkle with dried parsley if desired. Your delicious butter-fried baby potatoes are ready!
