Pizza Ingredients- 3 Tortillas
- Tomato sauce
- 3-4 Frankfurters (or similar sausages)
- A small amount of bell pepper (use various colors for visual appeal)
- 1/3 Onion
- 4 Button mushrooms
- Black olives (pitted)
- Plenty of pizza cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the sausages. Boil them in water for about 5 minutes to lightly cook them and remove any impurities, making them tender. Once boiled, drain them and let them cool slightly. Then, slice them into small, plump pieces. For safety when cooking with children, you can use kid-safe plastic knives.
Step 2
Next, clean the button mushrooms and slice them thinly. Slice the pitted black olives as well. When involving children in the kitchen, safety is paramount! Using plastic knives, like those sometimes provided with cakes from bakeries, allows kids to safely participate in chopping.
Step 3
Now it’s time to chop the bell peppers and onions. Slice them into bite-sized strips. You can make this part of the fun by letting the children break down these strips into smaller pieces – it’s a great way to improve their fine motor skills and concentration!
Step 4
Voilà! All the colorful ingredients for our pizza are now ready. Your pizza will be even more special as your child helps choose and prepare the toppings.
Step 5
Now, let’s spread a thin, even layer of tomato sauce over the tortilla. Make sure to cover the surface from edge to edge for consistent flavor in every bite.
Step 6
Arrange your prepared ingredients – sausages, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, and any other favorites – evenly over the tomato sauce. Let your child get creative with the arrangement!
Step 7
The grand finale! Sprinkle a generous amount of pizza cheese over everything. Now, carefully transfer the tortilla pizza to a frying pan. Cover it with a lid and cook over very low heat until the cheese is beautifully melted and bubbly. The gentle heat allows all the flavors to meld together, creating a delicious homemade tortilla pizza!
