Ingredients

  • 26 frozen dumplings
  • Cooking oil, as needed
  • 200g pizza cheese
  • Generous amount of mayonnaise

Seasoning

  • 5 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 onion
  • 1 handful of cabbage
  • Generous amount of black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Place the frozen dumplings into a resealable bag and drizzle cooking oil evenly over them. This helps the dumplings cook up crispy and prevents them from sticking.

Step 1

Step 2

Seal the bag and shake it gently to ensure the oil coats all the dumplings thoroughly. This step is crucial for achieving a delicious, golden-brown result in the air fryer.

Step 2

Step 3

Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and arrange the oiled dumplings in a single layer, forming a circle. Ensure there’s some space between each dumpling for even cooking.

Step 3

Step 4

Air fry at 180°C (356°F) for 10 minutes. The dumplings should start to turn golden brown and puff up slightly.

Step 4

Step 5

While the dumplings are cooking, let’s prepare the simple tomato sauce. Dice the onion into small, uniform pieces (about 0.5cm).

Step 5

Step 6

Thinly shred the cabbage. Washing it beforehand is recommended. Thin shreds will maintain a pleasant crunch.

Step 6

Step 7

Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Add the ketchup and stir-fry for about a minute to enhance its flavor.

Step 7

Step 8

Add the diced onion to the pan with the ketchup and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

Step 8

Step 9

Once the onions are translucent, add the shredded cabbage and stir well. Season generously with black pepper for added aroma. Tip: To keep the cabbage refreshingly crisp, cook it only briefly, just until it’s combined with the other ingredients. Avoid overcooking.

Step 9

Step 10

Check the dumplings after 10 minutes of air frying. They should be nicely browned and partially cooked.

Step 10

Step 11

Spoon the prepared tomato and vegetable mixture evenly over the cooked dumplings in the air fryer basket. Make sure to cover them well.

Step 11

Step 12

Generously sprinkle the pizza cheese over the sauce-covered dumplings. The more cheese, the better!

Step 12

Step 13

Drizzle mayonnaise generously over the cheese in a zigzag pattern. The creaminess of the mayonnaise adds a delightful richness.

Step 13

Step 14

Reduce the air fryer temperature to 170°C (338°F) and air fry for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and lightly golden.

Step 14

Step 15

After 10 minutes, your Mandu Gratin is ready! Look at that beautifully melted and golden cheese – it’s irresistible!

Step 15

Step 16

Carefully transfer the finished Mandu Gratin to a serving plate. Enjoy this delightful dish! Tip: To easily remove the gratin without it falling apart, gently tilt the air fryer basket and pull the parchment paper liner towards you.
