Make a Rich and Moist Cream Cheese Tart Filling
Introducing a recipe for an exquisitely smooth cream cheese tart filling that melts in your mouth. Filling Ingredients- 150g Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature
- 75g Granulated Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 150g Heavy Cream (or Whipping Cream)
- 3 drops Vanilla Extract (optional)
- 18g Cake Flour, sifted
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, place the cream cheese, which has been softened at room temperature, into a bowl. Beat it with a whisk or spatula until it’s smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps. Then, add the granulated sugar and mix thoroughly until well combined with the cream cheese.
Step 2
Once the cream cheese and sugar are evenly mixed, crack in the large egg and add the 3 drops of vanilla extract (optional, but it enhances the flavor!). Whisk everything together quickly with a whisk until just combined. Be careful not to over-whisk.
Step 3
Sift the cake flour directly into the cream cheese mixture. Gently fold it in using a spatula until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Folding with a spatula in a cutting motion will help prevent lumps and keep the batter tender.
Step 4
Now, pour in the cold heavy cream (or whipping cream) and gently mix until all the ingredients are incorporated into a smooth batter. The cream will make the filling extra smooth and moist. Again, mix only until everything is just combined.
Step 5
Your cream cheese tart filling is now ready! You should have a smooth and glossy mixture.
Step 6
Carefully place the pre-made tart shells (or pastry dough) into your tart pans. If your tart shells have broken or aren’t sitting well, you can line the pan with parchment paper before adding the filling for a cleaner finish. (Tip: Using parchment paper also makes it easier to remove the tart from the pan later!) Pour the prepared filling into the tart shells.
Step 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20 to 25 minutes. It’s important to keep an eye on the tarts during baking, as overbaking can cause the filling to puff up excessively. The filling should be set and lightly golden on top. Remove from the oven, let it cool completely, and then enjoy your delicious homemade tart!
