Start your day right with this hearty and satisfying omelet, designed for a quick and delicious breakfast. It’s packed with fresh ingredients and a touch of cheesy goodness for a meal that’s both nourishing and delightful.
Ingredients- 2 fresh eggs
- A small amount of onion, finely diced
- A small amount of king oyster mushroom, finely diced
- A small amount of tomato, finely diced
- A small amount of Spam or ham, finely diced
- 1 slice of processed cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Crack the 2 fresh eggs into a bowl. Whisk them thoroughly until smooth, ensuring any chalazae (the white, stringy bits) are removed. A pinch of salt and pepper can be added for extra flavor.
Step 2
Prepare all your filling ingredients by dicing them into small, uniform pieces (about 1cm). This includes the onion, king oyster mushroom, tomato, and Spam (or ham). Uniform dicing ensures even cooking and makes the omelet easier to fold.
Step 3
Heat about 1/2 tablespoon of cooking oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent and slightly softened. Transfer the sautéed onion to a separate dish. You can lightly wipe the pan with a paper towel if needed.
Step 4
Add a little more cooking oil to the heated pan if necessary. Pour in the whisked egg mixture. Gently tilt the pan to spread the egg mixture into a thin, even layer. Cook over medium heat until the edges begin to set.
Step 5
Once the base of the omelet has started to set, evenly distribute the sautéed onion, diced mushroom, tomato, and Spam (or ham) over one half of the egg surface. Avoid overfilling, as this can make it difficult to fold and may cause the omelet to break.
Step 6
Place the slice of processed cheese on top of the filling ingredients. The melting cheese will help bind the filling together and add a rich, creamy texture.
Step 7
Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Continue to cook for about 1 minute, or until the cheese is fully melted and the omelet is golden brown. Gently slide the omelet onto a plate to serve.
