Store-bought seaweed stems are usually packed in salt. First, place the seaweed stems in a bowl and rinse them thoroughly under cold running water, rubbing them gently to remove all the salt. Even after rinsing, they might still retain some saltiness, so soak them in cold water for about 10 minutes to adjust the flavor. This step will reduce the saltiness and improve the texture.
Step 3
Once the salt is sufficiently removed, squeeze out excess water and cut the seaweed stems into bite-sized pieces. Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add a little cooking oil. Sauté the minced garlic first until fragrant, creating a garlic-infused oil. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Then, add the prepared seaweed stems and stir-fry them together.
