Introducing a refreshing cucumber juice I often make to combat morning puffiness. Many people aren’t fans of cucumber’s distinct taste, but this recipe transforms it into a delightful drink.   • 1/2 fresh cucumber
  • 150ml water
  • 0.5 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1/3 apple
  • 2 drops lemon juice (optional)

Start by washing the cucumber thoroughly under running water. Gently scrape off any rough spots on the cucumber skin with a peeler for a smoother finish. You can peel the cucumber, but if you prefer to keep the skin on for added nutrients, soak it briefly in water with a little vinegar to ensure it’s clean.

While I generally eat most things, I’m not particularly fond of fruits. I decided to use up an apple that had been in the fridge for a while. Peel the apple and then chop it into pieces that will blend easily.

Lemon is often added to cucumber juice for a bright, citrusy note. Since I didn’t have a fresh lemon, I used a few drops of lemon juice instead. You can omit it entirely if you don’t have it. I added just two drops for a hint of tartness and its detoxifying properties. Adding too much can make the juice overly sour, so I recommend adding it gradually to taste. Finally, add about 150ml of water and blend everything until smooth. That’s it!

Here’s the finished juice! Doesn’t it look healthy and invigorating? Because I used a good amount of apple, the sweetness of the apple dominated, masking the strong cucumber flavor. You might not even guess there’s cucumber in it!
