Ingredients

  • 1 bowl of cooked rice (approx. 200g)
  • 1 can of tuna (drained)
  • A small amount of shiitake mushroom (minced to a size suitable for baby)
  • A small amount of carrot (minced to a size suitable for baby)
  • A small amount of broccoli (minced to a size suitable for baby)

Seasoning

  • 500ml water (or baby broth)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 Tbsp soy sauce for soup (adjust to baby’s taste)
  • A pinch of sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Drain the oil from the canned tuna using a sieve. It’s important to remove as much oil as possible, especially for baby food.

Step 1

Step 2

Finely mince the shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and broccoli into very small pieces that are easy for your baby to eat. Mincing them finely will help them cook thoroughly and blend smoothly into the porridge.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a pot over medium-low heat. Add the minced vegetables and sauté for about 2 minutes until they are slightly softened and fragrant. This step enhances the natural sweetness and flavor of the vegetables.

Step 3

Step 4

Add the cooked rice and 500ml of water to the pot with the sautéed vegetables. Bring to a boil over high heat, breaking up any clumps of rice with a spoon.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the porridge comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the drained tuna and mix well with the rice, allowing the rice grains to break down and soften.

Step 5

Step 6

Season with 0.5 tablespoon of soy sauce for soup. Baby’s seasoning needs careful attention, so start with a small amount and taste before adding more if necessary. You can also use baby-specific soy sauce or salt.

Step 6

Step 7

Continuously stir the porridge, scraping the bottom of the pot to prevent sticking, until it reaches your desired consistency. Cook until the rice grains are fully broken down and the porridge is thick. If it becomes too thick, add a little more water to adjust. Once done, turn off the heat and let it sit for a moment.

Step 7

Step 8

Serve the finished tuna and vegetable porridge in a nice bowl. Drizzle with a little sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds for an extra nutty flavor that your baby will love.
