Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s make nutritious and soft steamed eggs in the microwave! This recipe is so easy that even beginners or those living alone can successfully make it.

Step 1

Step 2

First, crack 2 large eggs into a bowl. Next, add 1/3 cup (about 60ml) of water. If you don’t have a measuring cup, about one-third of a standard paper cup will do. Add a pinch of salt to season. Whisk the eggs and water together gently with a fork or whisk until just combined. Avoid over-whisking, as this can make the steamed eggs less tender. Finally, sprinkle some finely chopped green onions on top for garnish. (Note: The photo missed showing the water being added, but be sure to add water when you mix the eggs!)

Step 2

Step 3

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. This prevents the steamed eggs from drying out or splattering in the microwave. Once covered, microwave on high power for about 3 minutes. The exact cooking time may vary depending on your microwave’s wattage and the size of the bowl. It’s a good idea to check at around 2 minutes and 30 seconds and adjust the time as needed. The steamed eggs are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
