Ribeye Steak and Side Dish Ingredients

  • 200g fresh beef ribeye steak
  • 4 whole fresh garlic cloves, unpeeled
  • 1/2 small potato
  • A little carrot
  • A little extra virgin olive oil
  • A pinch of fine salt

Cooking Instructions

First, let’s prepare the roasted garlic for the side dish. Wash the whole garlic cloves and trim just the very tip of the stem end. Slice the potato and carrot into approximately 0.5cm thick pieces. Arrange the prepared vegetables and garlic cloves in the air fryer basket. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with fine salt for seasoning.

Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Place the garlic and vegetables in the basket and cook for 8 minutes. After 8 minutes, carefully remove the basket, flip the contents, and cook for another 5 minutes at 180°C (350°F). This will result in garlic that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Now, it’s time to cook the star of the show: the ribeye steak. Pat the steak dry with paper towels to remove any surface moisture; this is crucial for achieving a good sear and retaining juices. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan over high heat until very hot. Place the ribeye steak in the pan and sear it on all sides until a beautiful crust forms, listening for that satisfying ‘sizzle’. Searing on high heat quickly locks in the juices.
