Main Ingredients- 400g raw peanuts (in shell)
- 4 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 Tbsp salt (approx. 10g)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (approx. 10g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a deep pan or wok, add 4 tablespoons of cooking oil. Then, add 400g of raw peanuts in their shells. Roast the peanuts over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes. It’s crucial to stir constantly with a wooden spatula to prevent them from burning. You’ll know they’re ready when a nutty aroma fills the air and the shells start to slightly crack open.
Step 2
Once the peanuts are sufficiently roasted, add 1 tablespoon of salt and continue to stir-fry for another 5 minutes. Ensure the salt is evenly coated on the peanuts, allowing the salty flavor to penetrate and enhance their taste. Keep the heat at medium-low during this step, and be careful not to let the peanuts burn.
Step 3
Turn off the heat completely. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and quickly mix everything together. The residual heat will melt the sugar, coating the peanuts and creating a delicious sweet and salty balance. Toss thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well combined. They are delicious served hot right after roasting, or they will become even crispier if cooled completely.
