Nostalgic Salad
Simple Yet Delicious Salad! Amazing When Wrapped in Gim (Seaweed)
Remember the delicious salad my aunt used to make at work? It was incredibly tasty when wrapped with spinach and gim (seaweed)! I suddenly thought of it and decided to make it myself. You should definitely try it too!
Main Ingredients- 4 imitation crab sticks
- 10 Vienna sausages (large)
- 1 cucumber
Dressing & Seasoning- 5 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 0.5 Tbsp sugar
- A pinch of sesame seeds
- 5 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 0.5 Tbsp sugar
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the main ingredients for the salad. Get ready with 4 imitation crab sticks, 10 Vienna sausages, and 1 fresh cucumber.
Step 2
Cut the Vienna sausages lengthwise into 4 pieces. Briefly blanch them in boiling water to retain their satisfyingly firm texture. After blanching, rinse them under cold water and drain well.
Step 3
Wash the cucumber thoroughly and remove the seedy core. Then, cut it lengthwise into 8 pieces, matching the thickness of the sausages. Halve the imitation crab sticks lengthwise and then cut them to a similar size as the sausages. Cutting all ingredients to a similar size makes them easier to eat and creates a harmonious flavor.
Step 4
Now, combine all the prepared ingredients in a large bowl. Gather the sausages, cucumber, and imitation crab sticks together to prepare for making a delicious salad.
Step 5
Add half a tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of toasted sesame seeds to the ingredients in the bowl. Gently mix these seasonings in first to let them coat the ingredients. The sugar adds a touch of sweetness, and the sesame seeds provide a nutty aroma.
Step 6
Once the ingredients are lightly mixed with the sugar and sesame seeds, generously add 5 tablespoons of creamy and savory mayonnaise. Feel free to adjust the amount of mayonnaise according to your preference.
Step 7
Mix everything thoroughly until all the ingredients and seasonings are well combined. Stir gently to avoid mashing. Transfer the finished salad to a nice serving dish. It’s incredibly delicious when wrapped with lightly toasted gim (seaweed) and rice – a true delicacy!
