Main Ingredients- 400g Ground Beef
- 1 Onion (small)
Seasoning- 1.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Corn Syrup (or Oligosaccharide)
- 8 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Corn Syrup (or Oligosaccharide)
- 8 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one small onion. Peel it and mince it very finely. The finer the mince, the better it will blend with the beef, creating a pleasing texture.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the finely minced onion with 1.5 Tbsp of soy sauce and 1 Tbsp of sesame oil. Mix well to create a seasoning. This will add sweetness and depth to the onion.
Step 3
Gently press the ground beef with paper towels to remove any excess blood. This helps to reduce any gamey odor and ensures a clean taste. To the drained beef, add 1.5 Tbsp of minced garlic, a pinch of black pepper, and 2 Tbsp of sugar. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands until well combined, allowing the beef to marinate.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little cooking oil. First, add the seasoned minced onion and stir-fry until it becomes translucent, bringing out its natural sweetness. Once the onion is softened, add the marinated ground beef. Increase the heat to high and stir-fry, breaking up the beef as it cooks, until it is completely browned.
Step 5
When the beef is fully cooked, add the star ingredient: 8 Tbsp of Gochujang. Reduce the heat to medium-low to prevent the Gochujang from burning. Stir continuously, ensuring the Gochujang, beef, and onions are well incorporated. Finally, add 1 Tbsp of corn syrup and mix quickly one last time. This will give the dish a glossy finish and complete your delicious Stir-fried Beef with Gochujang! It’s great to eat immediately, or you can let it cool and store it in an airtight container for a hearty side dish that will last for days.
