Main Ingredients- 2 Onions
- 16 slices Dill pickles
- 8 slices Cheddar cheese
- 2 Tomatoes
- 2 Baguettes
- 200g Small shrimp (about 2cm in size)
- 8 slices Ham

Step 1
Begin by thawing the small frozen shrimp in lukewarm water. Once thawed, pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. In a bowl, combine the tempura flour with a little water, whisking until you achieve a pancake-like batter consistency. Dip the dried shrimp into the batter, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to approximately 170°C (340°F). Carefully drop the battered shrimp into the hot oil, one by one, using chopsticks to prevent them from sticking together. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove the fried shrimp with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels. These will be your delicious ‘popcorn shrimp’!
Step 3
Slice the baguettes lengthwise, cutting only about halfway through to create a hinge. Toast the cut sides lightly in a pan or oven for about 4 minutes until golden and slightly crisp. While the baguettes are toasting, prepare your vegetables. Thinly slice the onions into rings, about 1-2mm thick. Briefly rinse them under cold water to remove any sharpness, then pat them completely dry with paper towels. Slice the tomatoes into 5mm thick rounds.
Step 4
Assemble the sandwiches. On the toasted baguette, layer the ingredients. First, fold a slice of ham and place it on the left side of the baguette’s cut surface. Next, take a slice of cheese, cut it in half, and place it on the right side. Evenly arrange the tomato slices, onion rings, and dill pickle slices inside. Drizzle with Caesar dressing and a touch of hot sauce for a little kick. Finally, generously fill the sandwich with the crispy popcorn shrimp.
Step 5
