Ingredients- 5 strips of bacon (about 150g)
- 2 servings of cooked rice (about 400g)
- 1/2 stalk of green onion (white part)
- 10 cloves of garlic
- 50g carrot
- 1.5 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp sesame seeds (toasted and crushed)
- Generous amount of sesame oil
- Generous amount of cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thinly slice the 10 cloves of garlic. Aim for about 0.2cm thickness. If you love garlic, feel free to add a little more!
Step 2
Finely dice half a stalk of green onion (focusing on the white part) and the 50g of carrot. Try to dice them to a similar size for even cooking.
Step 3
Cut the 5 strips of bacon into long, bite-sized pieces, about 0.7cm wide. This ensures they cook evenly in the pan.
Step 4
Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Add the diced green onions and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, creating an aromatic oil base.
Step 5
Once the green onions are fragrant, add the sliced garlic to the pan. Stir-fry together, keeping the heat at medium-low to prevent burning the garlic. Cook until the garlic becomes tender and starts to turn golden brown and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
When the garlic is softened, add the prepared bacon and carrots to the pan. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook until the bacon is nicely browned and slightly crispy, and the carrots are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 7
Add the 2 servings of cooked rice and 1.5 Tbsp of oyster sauce to the pan. Stir and break up the rice with a spatula, ensuring everything is well combined and evenly coated. Continue to stir-fry for about 3 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt if needed, as oyster sauce can vary in saltiness.
Step 8
Add the 2 Tbsp of toasted and crushed sesame seeds. Stir for another 30 seconds to infuse the rice with their nutty aroma.
Step 9
Just before turning off the heat, drizzle a generous amount of sesame oil around the edges of the pan. This adds a wonderful fragrant finish. Be careful not to overcook after adding sesame oil, as its flavor is best when fresh.
Step 10
Your delicious Bacon Garlic Fried Rice, packed with savory flavors, is ready! Enjoy this delightful and satisfying meal while it’s hot. 🙂
