Ingredients for Grape Cluster Jelly

  • 1 packet Konjac Powder (approx. 15g)
  • 1 Tbsp Edible Food Coloring (natural, purple hue)
  • 1 packet Blue Made Agar Agar Jelly Mix (Grape Flavor)
  • Round Jelly Molds
  • Approximately 20 Toothpicks

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making the Grape Cluster Jelly.

Step 1

Step 2

First, let’s make the base for the ‘grape pearls’. In a pot, combine 300ml of cold water with 1 packet of konjac powder and 1 tablespoon of natural food coloring (purple) that has been pre-dissolved in a little water. Stir well to prevent lumps. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then continue to simmer for about 1 minute to fully cook the konjac powder.

Step 2

Step 3

Carefully pour the hot konjac mixture into clear jelly molds or a suitable container. Using a tray will make it easier to place and remove from the refrigerator. Once it has cooled down completely, let it set in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. It’s important for the jelly to be firm so you can shape it later.

Step 3

Step 4

Gently remove the well-set konjac jelly from the mold. To create the grape cluster shape, cut the jelly into bite-sized cubes or shape them into round balls that are easy to handle. Using a knife or a scoop can be helpful here.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, it’s time to create the ‘grape cluster stem’. In a separate pot, add 200ml of cold water, then stir in 1 packet of Blue Made Agar Agar Jelly Mix (grape flavor) and 3g of konjac powder, ensuring no lumps form. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer for about 1 minute until the jelly mix is completely dissolved.

Step 5

Step 6

Carefully pour the hot, melted jelly mixture into round jelly molds designed for creating small spheres. If you don’t have these molds, you can use a small spoon to drop small ‘pearls’ of jelly. Once the molds are filled, return them to the refrigerator for about 1 hour to set, creating small, spherical grape pearls.

Step 6

Step 7

Finally, the assembly! Using toothpicks, carefully attach the small, round grape jellies onto the larger, cubed konjac jelly (which will form the stem of the cluster). Arrange them naturally to resemble a real bunch of grapes for the most appealing look. Your unique and delicious Grape Cluster Jelly is now complete – a treat for both the eyes and the palate!
