Soft Crab Stick and Onion Egg Scramble for Babies
Perfect Baby Food! Recipe for Soft Crab Stick and Onion Egg Scramble
Introducing a nutritious and tender stir-fry featuring delicate crab sticks, sweet onions, and savory eggs, specially made for your baby. This dish is ideal for the later stages of baby food or early toddler meals.
Main Ingredients- Onion 60g
- Imitation Crab Sticks (Krabby) 1 piece
- Egg 1
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Before you begin cooking, carefully check and prepare all the ingredients listed above. Since this is for your baby, it’s important to finely chop the onion and crab sticks so they are easy for your baby to chew and swallow. Finely julienne or mince the onion, and shred the crab sticks lengthwise.
Step 2
Crack the egg into a clean bowl. Whisk it gently with a fork or whisk, removing the chalaza (the white stringy bits). Ensure the yolk and white are well combined. Whisking it like this will help it cook into soft, fluffy curds.
Step 3
Shall we start cooking? Get a clean frying pan and pour in 100ml of water as specified. This water will help to soften and cook the onions gently.
Step 4
With the water in the pan, add all the finely chopped onions you prepared. Cook over medium-low heat, either covered or uncovered, until the onions turn translucent and become very soft. The key is to cook them enough so their natural sweetness fully develops.
Step 5
Since this is for a baby, seasoning should be very minimal. Add the 0.1 Tbsp of salt and stir well. You can adjust the amount of salt according to your baby’s age and eating habits. It’s recommended to add a very small amount first and taste before adding more.
Step 6
Once the onions are thoroughly cooked and tender, while there is still a little moisture in the pan, slowly pour the whisked egg mixture from step 1 around the edges of the pan. Maintain a medium-low heat, rather than high heat, to ensure the egg cooks into soft curds.
Step 7
As the egg begins to form soft curds, add the shredded crab sticks you prepared and stir-fry them together. Gently stir to prevent the egg and crab sticks from clumping together, and continue to cook until the liquid in the pan has almost evaporated. Your delicious crab stick and onion egg scramble is ready! It will have a wonderfully soft texture that your baby can easily eat.
