Core Ingredients- 5 Donggeurang-ttaeng (store-bought or homemade)
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 serving spaghetti (approx. 80-100g)
Sauce and Seasoning Ingredients- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce (approx. 200ml)
- 1 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (adjust to taste)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce (approx. 200ml)
- 1 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Finely mince 2 of the Donggeurang-ttaeng using a knife. Cut the remaining 3 Donggeurang-ttaeng into halves for easier eating. This variety in texture and size will make your pasta more interesting.
Step 2
Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions, or until al dente. Once cooked, drain the pasta thoroughly.
Step 3
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a preheated skillet over low heat. Add the thinly sliced garlic cloves and sauté gently until fragrant. Cooking the garlic slowly prevents burning and infuses the oil with a wonderful aroma.
Step 4
Once the garlic releases its aroma, add the minced Donggeurang-ttaeng to the skillet. Sauté over medium heat until lightly browned. Browning the Donggeurang-ttaeng in the oil will enhance its flavor.
Step 5
Pour 1 cup (approx. 200ml) of store-bought tomato sauce into the skillet with the browned Donggeurang-ttaeng. Stir well to combine. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a splash of water to reach your desired consistency.
Step 6
Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper as needed. Remember that Donggeurang-ttaeng already contains seasoning, so taste before adding more.
Step 7
Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce pan. Toss the pasta with the sauce and stir-fry together for 1-2 minutes, ensuring the spaghetti is evenly coated. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
Step 8
Finally, add the halved Donggeurang-ttaeng to the pan and gently mix them in. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese to finish. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy this delightful fusion dish!
