Homemade Tomato Smoothie
A Refreshing and Nourishing Drink: Homemade Tomato Smoothie Recipe ♩
Boost your well-being with a glass of homemade smoothie packed with nutritious ingredients. This delightful blend combines the goodness of tomatoes with a touch of sweetness and tanginess.
Ingredients- 2 ripe tomatoes
- 1/2 cup milk (approx. 100ml)
- 2 Tbsp Hongcho (fermented vinegar drink)
- 2 Tbsp honey (or to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the tomatoes thoroughly under running water and remove the stems. Leaving the skin on allows you to consume more nutrients.
Step 2
Chop the tomatoes into small pieces, about 1-2 cm in size, to make them easier to blend. You can remove excessive seeds or unripe parts if desired.
Step 3
Place the chopped tomatoes in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of honey for sweetness and 2 tablespoons of Hongcho for a delightful tanginess.
Step 4
Gently mix the tomatoes with honey and Hongcho using a spatula or spoon, being careful not to mash them. This ensures the flavors are evenly distributed and enhance the tomato’s natural taste.
Step 5
Transfer the seasoned tomatoes into an airtight container. It’s important to mix the ingredients while freezing.
Step 6
Place the container in the freezer for about 2.5 to 3 hours. To prevent the tomatoes from freezing into a solid block, take the container out every hour or so and shake it 2-3 times. This will help them freeze more evenly, making blending much easier later.
Step 7
After the freezing time, the tomatoes should be semi-frozen, like a slush, with the flesh not completely hardened. This texture is ideal for making smoothies.
Step 8
Add the semi-frozen tomatoes to your blender. Pour in 1/2 cup of milk (about 100ml). You can adjust the amount of milk based on your desired consistency.
Step 9
Secure the lid of the blender and blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. Continue blending until there are no lumps and the mixture is perfectly smooth.
Step 10
Your delicious tomato smoothie is ready! It’s rich, with no added water, perfectly balancing the sweetness of honey and the tanginess of Hongcho. Enjoy immediately while it’s refreshingly cold.
