Morning Sausage Bread, Inspired by K-Celebrity
Quick & Delicious Morning Sausage Bread Recipe Featured on ‘Omniscient Interfering View’
Inspired by the incredibly simple yet delicious morning sausage bread shown on the TV show ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ by celebrity Lee Gook-joo, I decided to make it for dinner! Using an air fryer makes it remarkably easy to achieve a crispy exterior and a savory-sweet interior, with a visual appeal that’s simply irresistible. It’s a delightful dish that looks as good as it tastes.
Main Ingredients- 4 Morning Buns (soft rolls)
- 2 slices Cheddar Cheese
- Ketchup, to taste
- 8 Vienna Sausages
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, a little
- Dried Parsley Flakes (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the morning buns. Using a fork or a small knife, gently hollow out the top center of each bun to create a space for the sausage and cheese filling. Be careful not to cut too deep.
Step 2
Cut each slice of cheddar cheese in half lengthwise. You will use half a slice of cheddar cheese per morning bun.
Step 3
Briefly blanch the Vienna sausages in hot water or pour hot water over them to remove any impurities and enhance their plump texture. Then, make 2-3 diagonal cuts on the surface of each sausage. This helps them open up attractively when cooked and absorb flavors better.
Step 4
Take one half-piece of cheddar cheese, fold it in half, and gently press it into the hollowed-out space of the morning bun. Use your fingers to push it down firmly so it fills the cavity. The cheese will also help hold the shape.
Step 5
Place two of the scored Vienna sausages on top of the cheddar cheese, pressing them gently into the bun. Secure them well so they stand upright in the center of the bun.
Step 6
Fill any remaining gaps between the sausages and the bun with a small amount of shredded mozzarella cheese. The mozzarella will melt and add extra richness.
Step 7
Arrange the prepared sausage buns in the air fryer basket, ensuring they have some space between them so they cook evenly. Air fry at 180°C (356°F) for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden, and the bun’s exterior is crispy and lightly browned.
Step 8
Air fryer models can vary in performance and heating, so it’s essential to check on the buns periodically during cooking. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning and achieve your desired level of crispiness.
Step 9
Once cooked, carefully transfer the sausage buns to a serving plate. Finally, drizzle a bit of ketchup over the top of each bun to enhance both the flavor and visual appeal. The tangy ketchup beautifully complements the savory and sweet elements.
Step 10
Your ‘Morning Sausage Bread, Inspired by K-Celebrity’ is complete, featuring two plump Vienna sausages generously tucked inside! The finished dish looks wonderfully satisfying and appetizing.
Step 11
If desired, sprinkle a little dried parsley flakes over the finished buns for an added touch of color and a subtle herbaceous note. This enhances the presentation and adds another layer of flavor.
Step 12
The combination of the soft bun, the wonderfully gooey and stretchy cheese, and the plump sausages makes this a very filling and satisfying treat. Just one can be a substantial meal.
Step 13
Enjoy the fun of pulling the cheese apart, along with the delightful blend of savory sausage, rich bread, and the sweet tang of ketchup – a perfect ‘savory-sweet-rich’ flavor experience.
Step 14
These freshly baked sausage buns are perfect to enjoy with milk, coffee, or tea as a simple yet delicious breakfast option. They also make a fantastic snack for an afternoon pick-me-up.
