Main Ingredients- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 bowl of cooked rice (day-old rice works best)
- 1 Tbsp butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Melt the butter in a pan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently, stirring constantly. The key is to slowly cook the garlic to bring out its full aroma without burning it.
Step 2
Once the minced garlic turns golden brown and releases a fragrant aroma, immediately turn off the heat. Be careful not to overcook it, as it can become bitter.
Step 3
Add the cooked rice to the pan with the sautéed minced garlic. Use a spatula to break up the rice clumps and mix everything together evenly. Sprinkle with herb salt for seasoning. (You’ll add soy sauce later, so don’t add too much salt at this stage.)
Step 4
Turn the heat back on to low. Add the thinly sliced whole garlic cloves and stir-fry them with the rice. Pour in the kelp soy sauce and continue to stir-fry until the rice is slightly crispy and well combined. Finally, turn off the heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and mix well to finish.
Step 5
In a separate small pan, lightly fry the thinly sliced garlic over low heat until golden and crispy. Sprinkle these crispy garlic chips generously over the finished fried rice for an added texture and burst of flavor. (This step is optional, but highly recommended for extra deliciousness!)
