Super Simple Stir-Fried Radish Greens

Following up on my cucumber dish, I noticed I had some radish left that I needed to use. With about a third of a radish remaining and being injured, cooking with radish seemed daunting, especially the slicing part! So, I remembered the mandoline slicer I bought last year and used it to make these stir-fried radish greens. I absolutely love dishes made with radish, so the thought of making radish greens popped into my head. Strangely, since I started cooking with only one hand, my dishes seem to taste even better. Is it the reward for difficult labor, or perhaps because side dishes are a rarity? This stir-fried radish greens dish is incredibly delicious! Maybe it’s because I made such a simple dish in a complicated way. This is the first time I’ve ever made it this difficult! ^^;; The season for the best radishes is approaching its end. Ingredients

  • 3 handfuls of radish (approx. 300g)

Seasoning

  • 3 Tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 1 Tbsp chicken powder
  • 2/3 Tbsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • Scallions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds
  • A pinch of pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the radish thoroughly under running water, peel it, and then use a mandoline slicer to cut it into thin julienne strips. Using a mandoline will ensure even, thin slices, which cook up wonderfully soft and delicious. If you don’t have a mandoline, slice it as thinly as possible with a knife.

Step 2

Heat a deep pan or wok over medium heat. Add 3 tablespoons of grapeseed oil, then add the julienned radish and begin to stir-fry. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, until the radish starts to release its moisture.

Step 3

Once the radish becomes translucent and is about halfway cooked, add the prepared seasonings in order. First, add 1 tablespoon of chicken powder, 2/3 tablespoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Stir well as you continue to cook. Taste and add a little more salt if needed.

Step 4

Finally, add the chopped scallions, sesame seeds, and a pinch of pepper. Stir-fry briefly one more time. Once all the ingredients are well combined, turn off the heat. Transfer the finished stir-fried radish greens to a serving dish. Enjoy your delicious side dish!
