Delicious Galbi-jjim Fried Rice
Galbi-jjim Fried Rice
A simple and satisfying meal.
Main Ingredients- 1 piece of Galbi-jjim (Korean short ribs patty)
- 1 bowl of cooked rice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one piece of Galbi-jjim. Lightly oil a pan and grill the Galbi-jjim on both sides until nicely browned. To prevent burning, it’s best to cook it over medium-low heat.
Step 2
Once the Galbi-jjim is cooked, let it cool slightly, then cut it into bite-sized pieces (about 1-1.5 cm cubes). Cutting it this way ensures that the flavor is evenly distributed throughout the fried rice.
Step 3
Prepare the vegetables for the fried rice. Finely dice the onion and carrot, and thinly slice the green onion. Dicing them small will help them integrate well into the rice and create a softer texture.
Step 4
Now, let’s make the fried rice. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in the pan. Add the sliced green onions, diced onions, and carrots, and stir-fry over medium heat until fragrant. Continue to sauté until the vegetables become translucent.
Step 5
Once the vegetables are well sautéed, add 1 tablespoon of cooking wine and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Stir-fry them together, allowing the seasoning to coat the ingredients well. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the soy sauce from burning.
Step 6
Add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice to the pan. Using a spatula held upright, gently stir-fry the rice, being careful not to mash the grains. It’s important to stir-fry thoroughly until each grain of rice is separated and slightly toasted. When the rice is sufficiently fried, add the pre-cut Galbi-jjim and gently toss everything together to combine, finishing the dish.
Step 7
Delicious Galbi-jjim fried rice is complete! If you like, you can serve it with a fried egg on top for an even more satisfying meal.
