Soft Tofu and Seaweed Salad for Baby
Easy and Nutritious Tofu and Seaweed Salad Recipe for Babies!
Introducing a soft and delicious tofu and seaweed salad recipe, perfect for your baby’s health. This dish is suitable from the later stages of baby-led weaning and is an excellent baby food made with simple ingredients for balanced nutrition.
Main Ingredients- 100g Tofu (Recommended: silken tofu or soft tofu for babies)
- 1.5g Roasted Seaweed (Baby-specific, unsalted seaweed)
- 0.5 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce (Low-sodium or baby-specific soy sauce)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s make a special tofu and seaweed salad that your baby can eat healthily and deliciously! First, place the 100g of prepared tofu in boiling water and blanch for about 1-2 minutes. This removes the ‘coldness’ from the tofu and makes it even softer.
Step 2
Once blanched, drain the tofu on a sieve, or gently press it with paper towels to remove any excess water. Properly draining the tofu is key to achieving a good texture for the salad.
Step 3
Now it’s time to mash the tofu. Lay your knife flat and gently mash the tofu. It’s best to mash it to a consistency that your baby can chew easily, rather than making it completely smooth. Small chunks are perfectly fine.
Step 4
Transfer the mashed tofu to a clean bowl or your baby’s food bowl. Crumble the 1.5g of roasted seaweed by hand or finely chop it with scissors and add it to the bowl. Using baby-specific seaweed ensures it’s not too salty and is healthy.
Step 5
Next, add the seasonings to enhance the flavor. Add 0.5 tsp of sesame oil and 1 tsp of low-sodium or baby-specific soy sauce. Please note that ‘tsp’ refers to a teaspoon, which is a smaller measuring spoon than a standard adult spoon. Always use low-sodium soy sauce for babies.
Step 6
Finally, gently stir everything with a spoon or fork until all ingredients are evenly combined. Your delicious baby tofu and seaweed salad is complete! Let it cool to a baby-friendly temperature before serving.
