Main Ingredients

  • 500g beef chuck flap tail (cut into bite-sized pieces for chop steak)
  • 2 bell peppers (use a variety of colors like red and yellow)
  • 1/2 onion
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 15g butter

Special Sauce Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp steak sauce
  • 3 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 0.5 Tbsp ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp oligodang (corn syrup)
  • 1.5 Tbsp minced garlic

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, gently press the beef chuck flap tail with paper towels to remove any excess blood. Properly draining the blood ensures a clean flavor without any gamey taste.

Step 1

Step 2

Season the drained beef with salt and pepper. Make sure to sprinkle evenly over all the pieces so the seasoning is well distributed.

Step 2

Step 3

Let’s make the special sauce that will add incredible flavor! In a bowl, combine 6 Tbsp steak sauce, 3 Tbsp oyster sauce, 0.5 Tbsp ketchup, 3 Tbsp oligodang, and 1.5 Tbsp minced garlic. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Having the sauce pre-mixed makes cooking much easier.

Step 3

Step 4

Prepare the vegetables by deseeding the bell peppers and cutting them into bite-sized squares. Cut the onion into similar-sized squares as the bell peppers. Using bell peppers of different colors will make the dish visually appealing.

Step 4

Step 5

Now, let’s start stir-frying. Melt 15g of butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Be careful not to let the butter burn, and ensure it coats the entire surface of the pan.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the butter is fully melted, add the seasoned beef to the pan. Cook over high heat for about 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Cooking over high heat for a short time helps to seal in the juices, keeping the steak tender and moist.

Step 6

Step 7

When the beef is partially cooked, add the prepared bell peppers and onion to the pan. Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, aiming for the vegetables to be tender-crisp.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, pour the pre-made special sauce into the pan. Increase the heat to high and quickly toss everything together so the sauce coats the beef and vegetables evenly. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly and glazes the ingredients. Your delicious beef chop steak is ready!
