Baby Food Recipe: Creamy Crab Stick and Bean Sprout Salad
Introducing a nutritious and delicious recipe for Crab Stick and Bean Sprout Salad, perfect for your baby’s healthy growth. Its soft texture and mild flavor make it a favorite for little ones.
Main Ingredients- 200g bean sprouts: Use fresh and crisp bean sprouts.
- 90g crab sticks (imitation crab): Shred or finely chop for your baby’s consumption.
- 100ml water: Used for blanching the bean sprouts.
- 0.25 Tbsp salt: For a very light seasoning. Adjust according to your baby’s dietary needs.
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the bean sprouts under running water. It’s important to rinse them meticulously to remove any dirt or debris.
Step 2
Shred the crab sticks finely or chop them with a knife so they are easy for your baby to eat. Also, finely mince the green onions, mainly the white parts. If serving to very young babies, consider omitting the green onions or using only a tiny amount.
Step 3
In a wide frying pan, add the washed bean sprouts, 100ml of water, and 0.25 Tbsp of salt. Remember, the amount of salt should be minimal or omitted entirely, keeping in mind it’s a baby food.
Step 4
Cover the frying pan tightly and blanch the bean sprouts over medium-high heat for about 3 minutes. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become mushy. After turning off the heat, let them steam for another 2 minutes with the lid on. This will ensure the bean sprouts are moist and tender.
Step 5
Drain the blanched bean sprouts in a colander, squeezing out as much water as possible. Excess water can make the salad bland. Place the squeezed bean sprouts in a large bowl and add 1 Tbsp of sesame oil for a nutty fragrance.
Step 6
Add the prepared shredded crab sticks and minced green onions to the bowl with the bean sprouts. Gently mix everything together with your hands until well combined. Avoid mashing the bean sprouts; a gentle toss is key.
Step 7
Portion the finished Crab Stick and Bean Sprout Salad into small containers for your baby. Store in the refrigerator and it’s best to consume it within a few days.
