Basic Ingredients- 200g of prepared cake sheet (can be frozen)
- 100g cream cheese (room temperature)
- 32 chocolates (for cake pop coating)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the cake sheet, cream cheese, white chocolate, and dark chocolate. If your cake sheet was frozen, cut it into manageable pieces and place them into a food processor.
Step 2
Process the cake sheet pieces in a food processor or blender until finely crumbled. Using frozen cake pieces helps achieve a smoother crumb. If you don’t have cake sheets, store-bought pound cake or sponge cake works well too. Add the room-temperature cream cheese to the crumbled cake and mix thoroughly. Put on gloves and knead the mixture with your hands until it forms a cohesive dough. The ideal ratio of cake sheet to cream cheese is approximately 2:1. You can also substitute butter for cream cheese for a richer flavor.
Step 3
Press the cake mixture into your chocolate molds. Be careful not to overfill the molds, as this can cause uneven shapes when removed. Gently press the mixture into the mold, conforming to its shape.
Step 4
Carefully remove the cake pop shapes from the molds. Now, prepare the chocolate for coating. Place the chocolates in a piping bag and melt them gently using a double boiler. Melt the chocolate pen in the same way.
Step 5
Using the piping bag filled with melted chocolate, pipe about 1/3 of the way into a heart-shaped mold. Before the chocolate sets, remove the chocolate-coated mold from the base and gently press a portion of the cake mixture into it, ensuring it’s well coated with chocolate.
Step 6
For other molds, start by placing some crunchies at the bottom. Then, pour in the double-boiled white chocolate, followed by the cake mixture. You can use the same method with dark chocolate. Once all the cake pops are molded, place the entire tray into the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate is completely firm. Once the chocolate has hardened, use the chocolate pen to decorate them with your desired designs.
