Air Fryer Chicken Snack Wrap: Super Simple Home Brunch
The Easiest Chicken Snack Wrap Recipe Made with Your Air Fryer
The air fryer is an innovative appliance that has truly revolutionized our kitchens. It’s become a staple in almost every home, used in countless ways to simplify cooking. When it first came out, I found its principles hard to grasp and wasn’t sure it offered much over my existing convection oven, so I held off on buying one. Now, after using one for about a year, I find myself reaching for it frequently. I actually have a convection oven too, so I decide which to use based on the type of food I’m cooking and, importantly, the quantity. The way an air fryer works is quite similar to a convection oven, but it doesn’t require preheating, cooks faster, and is much easier to clean up afterward. Today, we’ll be making a chicken snack wrap using readily available chicken nuggets, all easily prepared in the air fryer. This recipe is perfect for a light brunch or a quick snack. Shall we get started?
Main Ingredients- 1 Tortilla
- 4 Frozen Chicken Nuggets
- 2 Leaves of Lettuce
- 1/2 Ripe Tomato
- 1 Slice Cheddar Cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
1. First, place the frozen chicken nuggets in your air fryer and cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. I usually cook a few extra just in case I want a snack later! To make cleanup a breeze, I’ve been using parchment paper liners designed for air fryers, which I recently purchased from Amazon – they are a game-changer.
Step 2
2. Thinly slice the tomato to about 0.2 cm (roughly 1/16 inch). Tear the lettuce leaves into bite-sized pieces. Rinse them under cool running water and then thoroughly pat them dry with paper towels. It’s important to slice the tomato thinly, as thicker slices can make it difficult to wrap the snack wrap neatly.
Step 3
3. Now, let’s prepare the tortilla. Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over one half of the tortilla and the ketchup evenly over the other half. Make sure to spread them out well for maximum flavor in every bite.
Step 4
4. Arrange the prepared lettuce and thinly sliced tomatoes on top of the sauces. I like to cut the cheddar cheese slice in half and place them lengthwise for good coverage.
Step 5
5. By now, your chicken nuggets should be perfectly golden brown from the air fryer. However, let them cool for about 5 minutes before assembling the wrap. Adding them while piping hot can cause the fresh vegetables to lose their crispness.
Step 6
6. Once slightly cooled, place the cooked chicken nuggets on top of the prepared tortilla. Drizzle about 1/2 tablespoon of honey mustard sauce over the nuggets. You can adjust the amount to your liking.
Step 7
7. Carefully and firmly roll up the tortilla, ensuring all the fillings are securely tucked inside. Rolling it tightly is key to preventing the ingredients from falling out as you eat.
Step 8
8. To keep everything in place, insert a toothpick or a small sandwich skewer through the wrap, then slice it in half. And there you have it – a delicious chicken snack wrap, perfect for brunch! The combination of crisp lettuce and tomato with the satisfying chicken nuggets is fantastic. The sauces complement each other beautifully, making it a delightful meal for the whole family, and a great option for kids’ snacks too. Enjoy your meal today! 🙂
