Main Ingredients- 4-6 slices of bread (slightly stale is fine)
Curry Butter Sauce- 1 Tbsp butter (softened at room temperature)
- 1/2 Tbsp curry powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (adjust sweetness as desired)
- Pinch of dried parsley (for garnish, optional)
- 1 Tbsp butter (softened at room temperature)
- 1/2 Tbsp curry powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (adjust sweetness as desired)
- Pinch of dried parsley (for garnish, optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the curry butter sauce. In a bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of softened butter and 1/2 tablespoon of curry powder. Mix thoroughly until there are no lumps. Ensure the butter and curry powder are evenly incorporated for the best flavor.

Step 2
Next, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of dried parsley to the mixture. Stir again until well combined. You can adjust the amount of sugar according to your preference for sweetness. The parsley adds color and a subtle aroma. Mix gently until all ingredients are smoothly blended.

Step 3
Now, spread the prepared curry butter sauce evenly over the bread slices. Coating both sides ensures a rich flavor once baked. Cut the sauced bread into bite-sized pieces, typically about 2-3 cm wide strips. You can also cut them into squares if preferred, especially for children.

Step 4
Finally, place the bread pieces in a frying pan over very low heat. Toast them until golden brown and crisp on both sides. Keep a close eye on the heat to prevent burning. Continue toasting slowly until the edges are crispy and the curry sauce is lightly caramelized, which should take about 3-5 minutes. Once nicely toasted, transfer the rusks to a wire rack to cool slightly before enjoying.
