  • 8 fresh perilla leaves
  • 1 cup pancake mix (buchim garu)
  • 2 Tbsp curry powder
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • Grapeseed oil or cooking oil (generous amount)

Gently wash the fresh perilla leaves under running water. Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which helps the batter adhere better. Trim about half of the tough stem from each leaf for easier eating.

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of pancake mix and 2 tablespoons of curry powder. The curry powder adds a wonderful aroma and flavor. Feel free to adjust the amount of curry powder to your preference.
