Main Ingredients
- 15 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 strips bacon, chopped (approx. 50g)
- 2-3 stalks green onions, chopped
- 1 bowl warm cooked rice (approx. 200g)

Step 1
First, prepare all your ingredients for easy cooking. Thinly slice the whole garlic cloves. The thinner the slices, the crispier and more aromatic they’ll become when fried. Chop the green onions and cut the bacon into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 1.5 cm wide. Having your ingredients prepped makes the cooking process much smoother. Isn’t ingredient prep super simple?
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add a little cooking oil (bacon will release its own fat, so don’t add too much!). Add the sliced garlic and slowly sauté it. Be careful not to burn the garlic; the key is to gently fry it until golden brown to release its fragrant oil. Once the garlic is lightly cooked, add the chopped bacon and stir-fry them together. Cooking until the bacon is crispy will make it even more delicious.
Step 3
Once the bacon and garlic are nicely sautéed, add the warm cooked rice. Using a spatula, break up any clumps and stir-fry everything together, ensuring the rice is evenly mixed with the bacon and garlic. The bacon is quite salty on its own, so you might not need extra seasoning. However, if you prefer it a bit saltier, add about 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce or a pinch of black pepper to taste. It’s important to stir-fry the rice until it becomes fluffy and slightly dry.
Step 4
When the fried rice is almost done, add the chopped green onions. Stir-fry over high heat for just about 10-20 seconds. This adds a fresh, crisp texture and aroma to the fried rice, enhancing its overall flavor. Turn off the heat and give it a final mix using the residual heat.
