Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack Oyster Mushrooms (approx. 200-250g)
  • 1/4 stalk Green Onion
  • 1/4 Onion
  • A small amount of Carrot (for julienning)

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (or Guk-ganjang for a lighter flavor, use 1 Tbsp if using Mat-ganjang)
  • A pinch of Stir-fry Salt (or regular salt)
  • 2 Tbsp Perilla Oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • A sprinkle of Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the oyster mushrooms thoroughly under running water. Gently separate them into individual strands. If any mushrooms are thick, tear them in half so they absorb the seasoning better.

Step 1

Step 2

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of coarse salt. Add the prepared oyster mushrooms and blanch them for just 30 seconds to 1 minute. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become mushy.

Step 2

Step 3

Immediately rinse the blanched mushrooms in cold water to cool them down. Then, gently squeeze out as much water as possible using both hands. Properly draining the water is key to maintaining a good texture and ensuring the mushrooms absorb the seasoning well.

Step 3

Step 4

Peel and thinly julienne the onion. Julienne the carrot thinly as well. Finely chop the green onion. (If julienning is difficult, you can use a food processor.)

Step 4

Step 5

Add the julienned onion, carrot, and chopped green onion to the squeezed oyster mushrooms. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (adjust saltiness to your preference), a pinch of stir-fry salt, 2 tablespoons of perilla oil, and 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic.

Step 5

Step 6

Gently mix everything together with your hands. Toss softly to ensure the seasoning coats the mushrooms and vegetables evenly. Finish by sprinkling with sesame seeds for a fragrant and delicious Oyster Mushroom Salad.
