Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the Sea Squirt: First, gently wash the sea squirt in clean water with a pinch of salt. Remove the shells and rinse the innards under running water to clean them thoroughly. Then, place them in a colander to drain completely. This process reduces any fishy smell and leaves only its fresh aroma.
Step 2
Prepare Fresh Vegetables: Wash the carrot, cucumber, and cabbage thoroughly to remove any dirt or impurities. Julienne them thinly. Cutting them not too thick helps maintain their crisp texture. Also, wash the lettuce and chicory under running water and shake off excess moisture.
Step 3
Assemble the Bibimbap Bowl: In a large, deep bowl, place the warm cooked rice. Arrange the julienned carrots, cucumber, and cabbage attractively over the rice, creating a colorful presentation. Finally, top it generously with the drained fresh sea squirt. Your visually appealing sea squirt bibimbap is ready to be mixed!
Step 4
Make and Add the Golden Gochujang Sauce: In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic. Mix well. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for richness and 1 teaspoon of ground sesame seeds for nutty flavor, then stir once more. This makes your delicious gochujang sauce. Drizzle this sauce attractively over the ingredients in the bowl.
Step 5
Mix and Enjoy!: Now for the best part – mixing! Use chopsticks or a spoon to enthusiastically mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Mix it with your right hand, then your left, savoring the perfect blend of the sea squirt’s fresh ocean scent and the sweet and tangy gochujang sauce. The sea squirt aroma that fills your mouth with every bite is truly exceptional!
