Main Ingredients- 1 bowl of warm rice
- 2 fresh shiitake mushrooms
- 80g of chewy oyster mushrooms
- 1/4 onion
- A small amount of green onion (for garnish)
- A little cooking oil
Seasoning Ingredients- 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 100ml water
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp water (for cornstarch slurry)
- A pinch of black pepper

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your ingredients: 1 bowl of rice, 2 fresh shiitake mushrooms, 80g of oyster mushrooms, 1/4 onion, and a small amount of green onion for garnish. Also, have 1 tablespoon of cornstarch ready.
Step 2
Thinly slice the onion. Finely chop the green onion. Slice the shiitake mushrooms thinly, following their natural shape. If the oyster mushrooms are large, tear them in half.
Step 3
Prepare the cornstarch slurry for thickening the sauce. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water. Stir well until there are no lumps. Set aside.
Step 4
Heat a pan with a little cooking oil over medium heat. Add the prepared shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, and sliced onion. Sauté for about 2 minutes until the mushrooms soften and the vegetables become tender, releasing their aroma.

Once the mushrooms and vegetables are partially cooked, add 0.5 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Stir-fry for another minute to allow the flavors to meld into the ingredients. You should smell the fragrant garlic.

Pour in 100ml of water and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once the sauce starts bubbling vigorously, proceed to the next step.

While the sauce is boiling, stir the prepared cornstarch slurry to ensure it’s mixed well, then gradually pour it into the pan. Stir continuously with a spatula until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but still pourable, creating a luscious topping for the rice.
Step 8
Once the sauce has thickened to your liking, turn off the heat. Sprinkle a pinch of black pepper and gently mix it in. Your delicious Shiitake Mushroom Rice Bowl is ready!
