  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 300g Fresh Beef (thinly sliced for bulgogi)
  • 1/4 Onion (cut into large pieces)
  • 1/2 Green Onion (cut diagonally)
  • 5 cloves Garlic (sliced thinly or roughly chopped)

Savory Marinade

  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine or Mirin (to remove odor and enhance flavor)
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground recommended)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil (for nutty aroma)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds (whole or crushed, for garnish and nuttiness)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a wide pan or bowl, spread out the 300g of beef. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of cooking wine (or mirin) over the beef to tenderize and remove any gamey odors. Arrange the large-cut onion, diagonally sliced green onion, and thinly sliced garlic on top of the beef. In a separate area of the pan or bowl, combine 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 3 Tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp black pepper to create the flavorful bulgogi marinade. Mix them well.

Step 1

Step 2

Gently pat the beef slices to remove excess moisture. Then, take each thin slice of beef and dip it into the marinade, spreading it out and ensuring it’s evenly coated. Mix gently to avoid breaking the delicate meat slices. Allowing the meat to marinate for a short while will deepen the flavors.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add all the marinated beef and vegetables to the hot pan and begin stir-frying. Keep the pan moving or stir continuously with a spatula to prevent the meat from burning. Once the beef is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender, turn off the heat. Finish by drizzling in 1 Tbsp sesame oil and sprinkling 1 Tbsp sesame seeds for a fragrant, nutty finish. Stir everything together for a delicious homemade bulgogi!
