Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, I’ll tell you about the ingredients you need to make these rolled-up bacon toasts! This recipe makes a total of 5 bacon roll toasts.

Step 1

Step 2

We’ll start by boiling the eggs that will go inside the bacon roll toast. Please use 5 eggs that have been stored at room temperature for at least 1 hour, so they are not cold. If you boil cold eggs straight from the refrigerator, they tend to crack while cooking!

Step 2

Step 3

Place the 5 eggs in a pot suitable for boiling on your stove or induction cooktop. Turn the heat to high. Add a pinch of salt to the water in the pot. Adding salt helps prevent the eggs from cracking during boiling.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the water in the pot starts to boil vigorously,

Step 4

Step 5

carefully add all 5 eggs to the pot and boil them for about 15 minutes to achieve a hard-boiled state.

Step 5

Step 6

After boiling the 5 eggs until hard-boiled, remove them from the pot and immediately immerse them in cold water to cool down. Then, take them out.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, peel the shells off the 5 boiled eggs. They’ve boiled up nice and firm! While the eggs cool, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) for at least 20 minutes.

Step 7

Step 8

Let the boiled eggs cool down slightly, then cut them into pieces that are not too small. This will give you a more satisfying bite when you eat the bacon roll toast!

Step 8

Step 9

To the cut boiled eggs, add 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise.

Step 9

Step 10

Add a pinch of salt for flavor.

Step 10

Step 11

Sprinkle in a little black pepper, just a dash!

Step 11

Step 12

Using a spoon, mix the boiled eggs with the mayonnaise, salt, and pepper until everything is well combined. This mixture will be the delicious filling for your bacon roll toast!

Step 12

Step 13

Next, prepare the bread for your roll toasts. You’ll need 5 slices of bread.

Step 13

Step 14

Trim off the crusts from the top, bottom, and sides of each bread slice for a neat appearance.

Step 14

Step 15

Place the neatly cut square bread slices on a tray.

Step 15

Step 16

Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice of bread until it’s thin. If you don’t have a rolling pin, you can use a long, smooth bottle or a plastic bottle.

Step 16

Step 17

On the flattened bread, spread about 1 teaspoon of ketchup.

Step 17

Step 18

Using the back of a spoon, spread the ketchup evenly across about two-thirds of the bread slice. Spreading only on two-thirds leaves room for the roll to close neatly.

Step 18

Step 19

On the part of the bread without ketchup (the edge where you’ll start rolling), place a moderate amount of the prepared egg mixture.

Step 19

Step 20

Don’t put too much egg mixture, or it will be difficult to roll the bread tightly! Roll the bread up like you would a kimbap (sushi roll), ensuring it’s snug.

Step 20

Step 21

Wrap a slice of bacon around the middle of each rolled bread. Overlap the bacon slightly so it stays in place when baked.

Step 21

Step 22

Repeat the rolling and bacon-wrapping process for the remaining 4 slices of bread. You now have 5 bacon roll toasts ready for baking.

Step 22

Step 23

Now, let’s make the egg wash for the outside of the toasts. Crack 1 egg into a small bowl.

Step 23

Step 24

Add some milk to the egg. The milk will make the egg wash smoother and help create a moist crust.

Step 24

Step 25

Whisk the egg and milk together until well combined to create your egg wash. You can adjust the amount of milk to your preference; add more for a thinner wash, less for a thicker one.

Step 25

Step 26

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the prepared bacon roll toasts on the lined baking sheet, leaving some space between them.

Step 26

Step 27

Using a pastry brush, gently brush the egg wash over the top of each bacon roll toast. A spoon can also be used if you don’t have a brush. This will give them a beautiful golden-brown color.

Step 27

Step 28

Place the baking sheet into the preheated 180°C (350°F) oven and bake for about 25 minutes. Oven temperatures and baking times can vary, so keep an eye on the toasts and adjust the time as needed until they are golden brown.

Step 28

Step 29

Once beautifully golden brown, carefully remove the bacon roll toasts from the oven using oven mitts.

Step 29

Step 30

Transfer the finished bacon roll toasts to a nice serving plate. Sprinkle some chopped parsley over the top for a fresh garnish. Ta-da! Your delicious, oven-baked bacon roll toasts are ready!

Step 30

Step 31

As the bacon bakes, it shrinks slightly, giving the toasts a lovely, slightly crinkled appearance that makes them look even more appetizing. The crispy bacon adds a wonderful texture and flavor.

Step 31

Step 32

The inside is filled with vibrant yellow egg, and the tangy ketchup provides a delightful contrast. Making these at home, which are so popular in bakeries, feels incredibly rewarding. The mayonnaise-seasoned egg filling makes each roll toast surprisingly filling and satisfying!
