Main Ingredients

  • 7 strips thinly sliced pork belly (Daepae Samgyeopsal)
  • 1 packet instant ramen

Broth & Seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce (measured with a tablespoon)
  • 500ml water
  • 0.3 Tbsp salt (measured with a tablespoon)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, take out 7 strips of thinly sliced pork belly from your freezer and place them in a pan. Cook them over medium heat until golden brown and slightly crispy. This allows excess fat to render out.

Step 1

Step 2

Once the pork belly is nicely cooked, cut it into bite-sized pieces. This makes it easier to enjoy with the ramen later.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, let’s make the ramen broth. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to a pot. It’s best to use a standard tablespoon (like one used for rice) for accurate measurement.

Step 3

Step 4

Pour 500ml of water into the pot with the soy sauce. Add 0.3 tablespoons of salt to season the broth. Bring everything to a boil over high heat. Boiling the broth enhances the ramen’s flavor profile.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the broth is boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook until they are perfectly done. As soon as the noodles are cooked, turn off the heat immediately. Overcooking can make the noodles mushy.
