Rice Bowl Ingredients

  • Beef (for bulgogi or shabu-shabu) 70g
  • King Oyster Mushroom 1/2 (approx. 50g)
  • Onion 1/4 (small size)
  • Green Onion 1/4 (mainly white part)
  • 1 bowl of warm rice
  • Mozzarella Cheese (pizza blend) plenty
  • 1 Egg

Marinade & Seasoning

  • 1.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Mirin (or Cooking Wine)
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • A pinch of Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, marinate the beef to remove any gamey odor and tenderize it. Wearing disposable gloves, gently mix the beef with 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp mirin, and 1 tsp soy sauce. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.

Prepare the vegetables for the rice bowl. Slice the king oyster mushrooms about 0.5 cm thick or chop them roughly. Slice the onion and finely chop the green onion. You can also add minced garlic if you like.

Heat a pan with about 1 Tbsp of grapeseed oil. Add the sliced onion, king oyster mushrooms, and green onions. Stir-fry over high heat until the vegetables are slightly translucent. Add 1 Tbsp soy sauce to season and continue stir-frying. Keeping the vegetables slightly crisp is key!

Serve the warm rice attractively in a bowl. Drizzle a little sesame oil over the rice for an extra nutty flavor.

You can use the same pan or a separate one. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry quickly over high heat until cooked.
