Beet and Pork Stir-fry for Babies
Baby Food / Side Dish: Pretty Pink Beet and Pork Stir-fry
Once made, this versatile baby side dish can be mixed with rice for a quick and complete meal every time. It’s incredibly useful when you’re tired of preparing baby food for every meal. It also makes a great baby side dish on its own. Especially when mixed with white rice, the beets turn it a lovely pink color, which little girls tend to adore! It’s also convenient for outings; just bring this along and mix it with rice.
Main Ingredients- 90g Ground Pork
- 30g Beet
- 30g Onion
- 30g Cucumber
Seasoning- A pinch of baby soy sauce or low-sodium soy sauce
- A pinch of sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
- A pinch of baby soy sauce or low-sodium soy sauce
- A pinch of sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, finely mince the onion and cucumber. Because beets are hard, mince them very finely. Mix the minced vegetables with the ground pork. Add a pinch of sesame oil and baby soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce), and let it marinate briefly.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat and add the marinated pork and vegetables. Once the pork starts to cook, reduce the heat to low and stir-fry until most of the moisture has evaporated. This process concentrates the flavors and makes it suitable for storage.
Step 3
The stir-fry, which weighed about 180g before cooking, will reduce to approximately 132g as the moisture evaporates. Evaporating the moisture results in a deeper, richer flavor.
Step 4
The finished stir-fry can be divided into three portions of about 44g each. Making it in these precise proportions ensures that your baby receives a balanced intake of vegetables and protein with every meal.
Step 5
This stir-fry can be served as a side dish, or mixed with 90g of white rice, about 44g of the beet and pork stir-fry, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds to create a beautiful pink rice. You can also add other ingredients or top with cheese for variation. For refrigerator storage, consume within 2-3 days.
