Beetroot Juice for Vascular Detox
[I Am a Living Body] Beetroot Juice for Blood Vessel Detoxification

Hello everyone! Today, we’re diving into a vibrant and healthy recipe. Beetroot, with its unique sweetness, satisfying texture, and striking crimson hue, is a versatile ingredient that can be incorporated into salads, wraps, kimchi, juices, noodle dishes, shakes, and more. It’s also a great choice for health-conscious individuals, boasting only 45kcal per 100g. Rich in iron and dietary fiber, beetroots are excellent for preventing anemia and supporting weight management. They are also packed with essential nutrients like folate, lutein, anthocyanins, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Notably, the betaine compounds in beetroot inhibit the formation of blood clots, improve liver function, and promote blood circulation, making them highly effective in lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The nitrates found in beetroot are converted into nitric oxide, which helps to dilate blood vessels, increase blood flow, and consequently lower blood pressure. However, beetroots contain small amounts of alkaloids, which can cause abdominal discomfort, indigestion, or bloating in individuals with weakened immunity. To mitigate this, it’s recommended to cook them. When selecting beetroots, look for smooth, firm roots without blemishes; medium-sized ones are typically the most tender. Store them wrapped in newspaper inside a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to six months. Today, we’ll be making the beetroot juice featured on the cable program ‘I Am a Living Body,’ which is touted as an unparalleled elixir for detoxifying blood vessels. Let’s get started!
Ingredients- 1/2 medium beetroot
- 1/2 apple
- 1 banana
- Water, enough to cover ingredients
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly scrub the apple and beetroot with baking soda using your hands, then rinse them multiple times under cold water. If you don’t have baking soda, you can use a mixture of 2 tablespoons of vinegar in cold water for cleaning. Since we’ll be using the apple skin, thorough washing is crucial. The water-soluble pectin in apple peels helps to prevent rapid blood sugar spikes, so consuming them with the skin on is highly beneficial.

Step 2
Here are the thoroughly washed apple and beetroot.

Step 3
When you cut open a beetroot, it reveals this beautiful interior.

Step 4
Peel the beetroot and chop it into bite-sized cubes.

Step 5
Fill a steamer with a generous amount of water. Once the water is boiling and producing steam, add the cubed beetroot and steam for 15 minutes.

Step 6
Cover the steamer with its lid and let the beetroot steam until cooked through, ensuring no steam escapes.

Step 7
The betaine component in beetroot has a structure similar to amino acids and is relatively stable when heated. Therefore, steaming it just until the flesh is tender is sufficient to retain its nutrients.

Step 8
Steaming beetroot every time you make juice can be a hassle. For convenience, you can portion out the steamed beetroot into single servings, freeze them, and then thaw them when needed.

Step 9
Bananas with brown spots (overripe bananas) promote white blood cell formation, boosting immunity up to eight times more than green bananas. Simply leave store-bought bananas at room temperature, and they will naturally develop these spots.

Step 10
Chop the banana into manageable pieces. Slice half an apple with the skin on. Prepare the steamed half beetroot. Add water until all the ingredients are just covered.

Step 11
These ingredients will yield approximately two servings of beetroot juice.

Step 12
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Ensure it’s thoroughly blended for a silky texture.

Step 13
And there you have it – your ‘Vascular Detox Juice’, the beetroot juice! Beetroot, often called ‘the red blood of the earth,’ is exceptionally effective in lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Consuming 2-3 glasses daily can significantly contribute to your health management.
