Boost Growth & Cleanse Arteries! π Wholesome Apple & Green Juice
Promote Healthy Cholesterol Levels for Growing Kids with This Delicious Apple Juice
My growing middle schooler loves meat and rice, but I worry about his cholesterol levels. That’s why I make this nutrient-packed apple and green juice daily, sometimes one glass, sometimes two. I always include fresh leafy greens like parsley, spinach, and kale. This juice is so delicious that even picky eaters who dislike vegetables drink it happily! It’s a fantastic way to ensure they get their greens while enjoying a tasty beverage.
Main Ingredients- 2 Apples
- 1 handful of Korean parsley (minari, approx. 30-40g)
- Approx. 15 spinach leaves (approx. 50-70g)
- Hurom juicer (or any juicer)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
To ensure the freshest and safest juice, thoroughly washing the greens is a crucial first step. Use a vegetable wash spray like ‘Veggie Aqua,’ known for effectively removing pesticides and foodborne pathogens, to cleanse the surface of your produce.
Step 2
Keeping a vegetable wash spray like this on hand in your kitchen is always useful for cleaning various food items.
Step 3
Blanch the Korean parsley (minari) in boiling water for about 2 minutes. Avoid overcooking, as it can become mushy and lose nutrients. It’s essential to cook parsley to eliminate any bacteria that could cause gallbladder-related issues.
Step 4
When washing vegetables with the spray, wait for about a minute after spraying before rinsing thoroughly under running water. This method enhances the removal of residual pesticides.
Step 5
Wash the apples, remove the core, and cut them into manageable pieces for juicing. Lightly rinse the blanched parsley under cold water, drain any excess moisture, and prepare it for the juicer.
Step 6
Wash the spinach thoroughly under running water, or by soaking and gently swishing it in water with a splash of vinegar. This ensures it’s perfectly clean to be used raw in the juicer.
Step 7
Now, all the ingredients are ready to create your healthy juice! Get your Hurom juicer (or your preferred juicer) ready.
Step 8
Begin juicing by feeding the prepared apples, blanched parsley, and raw spinach into the juicer. Alternating the ingredients can help achieve a smoother and more efficient extraction.
Step 9
Doesn’t that vibrant green color just look incredibly healthy? And it tastes amazing too!
Step 10
The Hurom juicer is known for producing minimal pulp, which makes cleaning up after juicing quite convenient.
Step 11
Spinach is packed with vitamins A, C, K, folate, and iron, contributing to a growing child’s health and supporting cardiovascular well-being. (Click the image for a larger view of its benefits).
Step 12
Korean parsley (minari) is rich in vitamins and minerals, particularly potassium, which helps excrete sodium, potentially aiding in blood pressure regulation and overall vascular health. (Please refer to the image for more detailed information on minari’s benefits).
