Main Ingredients
  • 90g Beef (tenderloin or round recommended)
  • 45g Cabbage
  • 40g Bell Pepper (using different colors is nice)
  • 2 Mushrooms (shiitake or king oyster)
  • 90g Soaked Rice (rice soaked in cold water for over 1 hour)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thoroughly wash and prepare all the ingredients for the baby food. For the cabbage and bell pepper, remove any outer leaves or seeds. Trim the stems of the mushrooms. For the beef, soaking it in cold water for a short while can help remove any blood.

Step 2

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Blanch the prepared cabbage, bell pepper, and mushrooms for a minute or two. This step helps to remove any raw vegetal taste and softens them, making them easier for your baby to eat. After blanching, rinse the vegetables in cold water and drain well.

Step 3

Place the beef, after removing any blood, into boiling water and cook until all traces of pink are gone. Once cooked, remove the beef, let it cool slightly, and then mince it very finely into pieces suitable for your baby. (For younger babies, you can mash the minced beef further or process it in a food processor.)

Step 4

Finely chop the blanched vegetables from step 1. Use a blender or food processor to puree them until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a small amount of the reserved blanching water to reach the desired consistency.

Step 5

In a pot, combine the pre-soaked rice and the pureed vegetables from step 4. Add the 720ml of water and bring to a boil over high heat. It’s important to cook until the rice grains become soft and break down.

Step 6

Continue to stir constantly with a spatula while simmering over medium-low heat until the rice grains are tender and the porridge reaches your desired consistency. Be careful to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Once it reaches a smooth, porridge-like texture that your baby can eat, it’s ready. Let it cool and be sure to check the temperature before feeding.
