Base Ingredients- 1 packet Chapagetti ramen
- 1 packet Neoguri ramen
- Approx. 1000ml water (as per ramen package instructions)
Korean Beef Sirloin Marinade- 170g Korean beef sirloin (Chae-Steak)
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Pinch of fine sea salt (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 170g Korean beef sirloin (Chae-Steak)
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Pinch of fine sea salt (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by slicing the Korean beef sirloin into thick, bite-sized pieces, about 1cm (approximately 0.4 inches) thick. This thickness will ensure a satisfying chew similar to a good steak.
Step 2
Season the sliced sirloin with a pinch of freshly ground black pepper and fine sea salt. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and gently toss to coat. Let it marinate for a few minutes. This step helps tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor.
Step 3
Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add a tiny bit of oil if needed (the olive oil from the marinade might be enough). Sear the marinated sirloin slices until each side is a deep brown color. Avoid overcooking, as the goal is to get a nice crust while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Remove the seared beef and set aside.
Step 4
Now, let’s cook the ramen. In a pot, bring approximately 1000ml of water (refer to your ramen packages for exact amounts) to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, add the noodle blocks from both Chapagetti and Neoguri, along with the vegetable flakes (soup base for vegetables). Cook the noodles until they are about 80% done, which usually takes around 3 to 3.5 minutes.
Step 5
When the noodles are 80% cooked, carefully drain most of the water, leaving about 1/2 cup (100ml) in the pot. Add the entire soup base packet from Chapagetti and half of the soup base packet from Neoguri. Stir vigorously over medium-low heat for about 1 minute, mixing the noodles and the sauces with the remaining water until everything is well combined and the sauce thickens slightly.
Step 6
Once the noodles and sauce are beautifully blended, add the pre-seared Chae-Steak back into the pot. Gently toss everything together to coat the beef with the rich sauce. Serve immediately while hot for the best texture and flavor!
